Amis de la Fête Fromagerie is bringing excellence in international cheeses to the public in Romania

Aurelien Marie, a French resident in Romania since 2019 and a great lover of French cheeses, decided at that time to make raclette cheese known to the Romanian public. This is how the "Amis de la Fete" brand was born, together with his Romanian associate Oana Mosanu.

What started with a food truck gradually turned into a real Fromagerie, opened in February 2022, in Amzei area, on D.I Mendeleev street no. 2. The two entrepreneurs have noticed an upward trend for the international cheese market, both through the location in Mendeleev and through the online store which is addressed to all lovers of gourmet cheeses.

With a turnover of over 250,000 euros in 2023 and a great development potential in both the B2C and B2B areas, entrepreneurs estimate a minimum 50% increase in turnover in 2024, according to the trend in this first part of the year. At the moment, Amis from Fête Fromagerie offers more than 100 types of cheeses from different European countries, recently adding to the portfolio also French charcuterie and fine grocery products such as foie gras, terrines, rillettes, chocolate.

Through the free tastings that take place weekend after weekend, people are part of a creative process, in which they can always discover some new favorite cheeses. It is something more than selling cheeses, we are trying to educate people through tastings and unique association events! Aurelien says that even he is surprised by the enthusiasm people have for cheese. When you scrape raclette off the wheel, people follow with appetite and impatience to taste!

Currently, Amis de la Fete is the only cheese shop that offers gourmet cheeses in Bucharest! Collaboration with small producers brings authenticity and a guarantee of quality. "Every year we visit Fruitieres from France to choose the best artisanal cheeses and we are doing our best to bring special types that cannot be found elsewhere in Romania" says Oana Mosanu, co-founder.

The plans in 2024 include handing over the Fromageria in Amzei market to a cheese enthusiast who will take care of growing the brand, while the two entrepreneurs promise to come up with a new business concept for the public in Romania. "The turnover and profitability rate give us the conviction that the AMIS DE LA FETE trademark has a fantastic potential for scaling and growth in the coming years!" says Aurelien Marie in conclusion.
