Our new colleague should have:
- relevant experience;
- minimum: Bachelor’s degree in subject area to be taught;
- Master’s Degree preferred, may be required if necessary to comply with local regulations;
- strong command of English language is required;
- computer literate;
- excellent communication skills;
- good listening skills;
- the capacity to learn quickly;
- excellent organizational skills;
- the ability to inspire and enthuse students;
- energy, resourcefulness, responsibility, patience and a caring nature;
- an understanding of the needs and feelings of students;
- ability to work independently, as well as being able to work in a team.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
- ensure that, excepting Modern Languages, English is the language of the classroom and of your own interactions with students both in and out of class;
- produce thorough and differentiated Schemes of Work (SoW);
- plan differentiated lessons according to the subject’s curriculum;
- mark and scrutinise all student work consistently, fairly, and with student progress and outcomes in mind;
- developing and producing visual aids and teaching resources;
- use, where appropriate, ICT in the classroom, as provided by the IT Manager and IT HoD;
- develop and encourage students’ curiosity and knowledge;
- refer habitual disciplinary issues to HoS and/or Senior Management;
- collaborate with other year-group teachers, other departments, and other schools to support connectivity across all of CSB;
Our further requirements are:
- be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and has students who achieve well;
- ensures proper planning and follow up for the academic progress of all students;
- ensures accurate and timely reporting to the Director;
- reports regularly to the coordinator regarding students’ performance and challenges, with recommendations for action and a summary of actions taken.
