Dentons and PPC Romania team up on pioneering a utilities procurement compliance guide

Global law firm Dentons together with the legal and procurement departments of PPC Romania, the leading clean energy company in Southeast Europe, team up on pioneering a utilities procurement compliance guide, an innovative tool designed to provide support in the daily operations of companies within the PPC group, with the aim of enhancing procurement processes.

The guide covers the main steps involved in the practical implementation of a utilities procurement procedure within PPC Romania, based on the relevant Romanian procurement regulations, the applicable European regulatory framework, and the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The guide explains the essential steps in a utlilities procurement process, and effectively translates legal provisions in a structured, user-friendly, and succinct format. This guide includes decision- making matrices and interactive checklists, which assist users in documenting decisions throughout the utilities procurement processes and in efficiently allocating resources.

PPC Romania team included Alina Dumitrascu, Monica Paraschiv, and Andreea Lazaroiu, while Dentons was represented by Oana Voda, Head of the Public Procurement practice at Dentons Romania.

Alina Dumitrascu said: "I value this partnership and the enthusiasm of everyone involved in carrying out this project. We will continue with other initiatives to support internal teams involved in various complex processes that require simplification. I thank the great professionals within our internal legal and public procurement teams as well as our partner Dentons, that has been receptive to this project and demonstrated professionalism throughout the realization of this guide. Last but not least, I want to acknowledge the valuable contribution of Picturise's visual artists, which has significantly enhanced the guide's visual appeal.”

Oana Voda commented: “I express my gratitude to PPC Romania for their vote of confidence in entrusting us with this innovative project. The guide is a valuable resource for both procurement and legal teams, as well as for other departments who are directly or indirectly involved in procurement processes within PPC Romania. Procurement compliance manuals are starting to get momentum, and I am confident that this guide will broaden stakeholders' perspectives. It serves as an innovative tool to enhance the procurement processes and has the potential to set an industry best practice for other companies to follow.”
