ECOWES
ECOWES is a regional leader in battery and accumulator recycling, offering comprehensive and compliant solutions for the responsible management of this type of waste.
The company’s approach combines technological innovation, sustainability, regulatory compliance, and the ambition to be a key player in the modern management of battery waste.
With an annual processing capacity of up to 12,000 tonnes, ECOWES recycles all types of batteries*. Exceptional efficiency is achieved through two state-of-the-art automated lines, specialized in treating alkaline and Li-Ion batteries. In response to increasing market demand, the processing of Ni-Cd and LTC batteries will be relocated to dedicated technology lines exclusively for these types, thereby optimizing technological workflows and operational performance.
ECOWES addresses the practical challenges faced by producers, collectors, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Organisations, and other industry stakeholders in efficiently managing their legal and operational obligations related to end-of-life batteries. The company provides integrated services covering the entire logistics and operational chain: from authorized collection and regulated transport, to advanced battery waste treatment, full traceability, compliant documentation, and the issuance of recycling certificates.
ECOWES also serves as a supplier of secondary raw materials recovered from battery recycling, such as copper, aluminium, iron, and plastics, as well as other components like electrolyte and black mass. Through hydrometallurgical processing, these yield strategic raw materials: lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese. The end-users of these products include technological fraction processors, chemical precursor manufacturers, and battery cell and module producers, to whom ECOWES offers sustainable, scalable, and fully integrated solutions aligned with industrial workflows—contributing to reducing dependence on primary resources and supporting the circular economy.
Holding a comprehensive portfolio of national and EU authorizations and certifications, including SRAC certifications for the cessation of waste status, ECOWES guarantees full compliance with EU regulations. This makes the company a strategic partner for organizations seeking not only regulatory compliance but also a tangible and lasting impact within the circular value chain.
*Except for lead-containing batteries, which are not currently processed by ECOWES.
