Horia Adrian is appointed Country CEO of Holcim România and Market Head for Emerging Europe

Horia Adrian, Romanian executive with over 18 years of management experience within the LafargeHolcim Group, replaces Sofiane Benmaghnia as Country CEO of Holcim Romania starting February 1st. Sofiane Benmaghnia, who has managed the local operations over the last two years, has chosen to pursue personal projects outside the group. 

Horia Adrian also takes on regional responsabilities as LafargeHolcim Market Head for Emerging Europe, area that includes Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova and Azerbaijan. Country CEOs of the above  group operations will report directly to him. In turn, Horia Adrian will be reporting directly to Marcel Cobuz, who was appointed Head Europe Region last December.

Horia Adrian (48) is a graduate of the Masters Degree Programme in Business Administration at Anjou University and of the Bachelors and Masters Programme in Mechanical Engineering at “Dunărea de Jos” University in Galați. He joined the LafargeHolcim Group in 2000 as Project Manager for Holcim Romania’s Ready-mix and Aggregates Division. Between 2004 and 2010 he was the Sales, Marketing and Logistics Director, and respectively the CEO, of Garadagh Cement, the Swiss subsidiary of Holcim. 

His results and his management model have recommended him for the following senior management positions within the group, as the CEO of Holcim Russia, CEO of Eastern Europe and CIS, CEO for Middle East. Prior to being appointed as the CEO of Holcim Romania, Horia Adrian held the position of Head of Business Transformation for LafargeHolcim group.
