ID Logistics announces the acquisition of GVT Transport & Logistics in the Benelux
ID Logistics announces the acquisition of 100% of GVT Transport & Logistics in the Benelux (turnover of 100 million euros).
This transaction strengthens the logistician's geographical coverage in the Benelux, with six new locations and new first-class customers.
ID Logistics, one of the European leaders in contract logistics, announces the acquisition of 100% of GVT Transport & Logistics, the transport and logistics division of GVT Group of Logistics.
With this acquisition, ID Logistics is actively pursuing its international growth strategy. The Group will consolidate its positions in Europe by creating a key logistics player in the Benelux. The Benelux is the3rd largest logistics market in continental Europe, after Germany and France, and the gateway to many industrial and private customers.
GVT TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS: A PLAYER IN THE BENELUX REGION
GVT Transport & Logistics is the transport and logistics division of GVT Group of Logistics founded in 1957. It offers warehousing, road transport and last-mile delivery services. The division named BTT, which offers multimodal container solutions, is not part of the transaction and will remain operated separately by GVT Group of Logistics.
GVT Transport & Logistics manages 12 sites, employs more than 750 professionals, leases 200,000 m² of warehouses and has a fleet of 285 trucks in the Netherlands and Belgium. Its main logistics campus in Tilburg is strategically located close to important ports and airports, and has good accessibility to river, rail, and road transport, for many international manufacturers based in this region. GVT Transport & Logistics serves a diverse client portfolio, primarily international electronics, and non-food distribution companies.
ID LOGISTICS AND GVT TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS
GVT Transport & Logistics and ID Logistics have been successfully cooperating in the Benelux for many years. Both headquarters are based in Tilburg. The combination of the two companies will offer unique logistics services in the market and high visibility in this strategic market.
The transaction remains subject to approval by the Dutch regulatory authorities responsible for monitoring M&A follow-up. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
