C&W Echinox: Starbucks opens a new unit in the Campus 6.1 building developed by Skanska in the Politehnica area
Six months after closing another deal with Starbucks for the Lipscani Street location, Bucharest's oldest commercial artery, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy firm announces the opening of a new location operated by the largest cofeehouse chain on the local market in the office building Campus 6.1, in the Politehnica area.
Starbucks will occupy an area of approximately 250 square meters in Campus 6.1 with a generous terrace that will be directly linked to the project square, a green area with free Wi-Fi. The building developed by Swedish group Skanska and the new Starbucks café are due to be inaugurated in 2018.
The new Starbucks unit offers a special exposure, being located at the intersection of Iuliu Maniu and Vasile Milea boulevards, in the immediate vicinity of the Politehnica Metro Station.
Bogdan Gubandru, Business Development Manager, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox: "The partnership between Skanska and Starbucks, two world leaders in their segments, strengthens the identity of Campus 6, which will become a new landmark on Bucharest's business map. The collaboration with Starbucks aims to create a modern lifestyle and a premium experience for both the tenants of the Campus 6.1 building and the residents of that particular area. In an increasingly competitive market, office building developers are looking to offer innovative benefits to complement efficient workspaces with modern technical specifications."
The Campus 6 project, which will include three other buildings, will be a new office hub designed to attract IT or technical companies. At the same time, the area is a new pole of interest for the students of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and for the young people and the employees in the area.
Aurelia Luca, Managing Director, Skanska Property Romania: "Campus 6 has been conceived from the outset as a social hub which, beyond being an innovative alternative to traditional office space, offers facilities that give the people working in the building the opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle. In the social areas dedicated to both campus companies and the community, meetings can be organized, work can be done, and people could relax in the same time. Starbucks perfectly complements this landscape, with a concept dedicated to the project. Campus 6.1 contains some of the WELL certification features that focus on user comfort and encourage creative and friendly workspaces."
Currently, Starbucks owns 20 units in Bucharest, while the national network comprises of 38 cafes, currently undergoing a large expansion process.
Mateusz Sielecki, Regional Director Starbucks Romania and Bulgaria: "Starbucks is not just a coffee shop but also an experience in itself, a café that brings people together and creates connections, almost like a programming language that only the initiated know and understand. The opening of the Campus 6.1 building in the Politehnica area is our way of getting closer to the dynamic young people who change the world through their work and put Romania on the international map in the IT world to help them know and facilitate the exchange of ideas and projects, all while drinking a good coffee. Starbucks will quickly become a landmark in the area, a meeting point for students and entrepreneurs, a hub of ideas and projects, and a place to relax after a long and productive day."
