WIN Gallery announces the opening of Daniela Grapă's solo exhibition entitled "The Passions of the Soul"

Bucharest, 23.09.2024 - WIN Gallery proposes a tribute exhibition organized in honor of the universal and deeply personal search for meaning and self. Danela Grapă’s works, united under one theme - "Passions of the Soul"- can be admired and purchased starting Friday, September 20th.

"Art is about the Truth", says Daniela Grapă, author of the works showcased in the recently opened exhibition, at WIN Gallery. The soul, albeit hard to define and portray is one of the foundations of man and humanity.  Contemplated and venerated for thousands of years by all the great civilizations, religions and philosophical movements, it is simultaneously the hope, motivation and justification for a large part of our actions.

The works, selected by curator Marinela Măntescu Isac and presented by WIN Gallery, under the title “Passions of the Soul" represent the perspectives of this artist from Iasi on the journey from the origins of existence through the complexities of life and what lies beyond it. She uses the figurative and the abstract, to an equal degree, in an attempt to offer possible answers to a series of questions about the essence of man, his beginnings and those of the world, sacrifice and paradise. Creation – the act and the idea of it - move fluidly from the sacred to the profane, reflecting each other as a set of mirrors.

"Our intention is to bring you, the art lover, topics of broad relevance, to promote dialog and analysis of how we relate to one another. There are elements of Christian iconography in Ms. Grapă's works and this is certainly one way of exploring and self-exploring. However, the subjects themselves - the desire to move beyond the limitations of the body, to somehow tame the inevitable passage of time - are present within any community, within any individual," says Irina Stoenescu, President of WIN Gallery.

"This is the seventh exhibition organized by WIN Gallery, in Romania, since its inauguration, last May. There have been three others in Spain. It is part of a sustained effort to increase the visibility and value of high-quality works of art," said Cristi Pascu, Founder of the WIN Alliance, entity that includes WIN Gallery.

"The collaboration with Daniela Grapă underlines our commitment to support the careers of artists with high potential, with great chances to complete the portfolios of the most exigent collectors. The benefit of such actions and cultural events is not limited to the collector and the artist, it is a plus for art in general", added Cătălin Guriță, Director of Experiences at WIN Gallery.

The exhibition is open to the public from September 20 to October 15, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 18:00, based on prior reservation, which can be made by contacting us at contact@wingallery.ro.
